Playoff Results and End-of-Season Banquet!
Congratulations to Delivery Boys, who are the official 2012 Beantown North League Champions! It was a great fight between all four teams -- all four teams finished over average for their three game totals, and in the end only 40 pins separated 2nd and 4th place. Sprinkles took 2nd place, and Lickety Splits took 3rd.
Reid O'Brien and Dan Malone were the winners of the Scotch Doubles tournament, and Karen Grenier and Sam Bryant tied with Reid and Dan for the high single-game score. Nice work!
Now there's only one thing left to do -- CELEBRATE! We hope everyone will join us for our year-ending league banquet event at Rain Nightclub, the bar located in the same building as Town Line Tenpin. Our cocktail hour will begin at 7:00pm, with dinner scheduled to start a little before 8:00. Tra and Nancy will be our caterers again, with a dinner menu that includes Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Piccata, as well as plenty of veggie dishes and appetizers, topped off with dessert! We will have a bartender especially for us, so please enjoy a beverage or two and tip our bartender well! Finally, we will be running a few bingo games as a special side event during the banquet, with the first game starting during the cocktail hour -- bring some extra money with you for some bingo cards! We can't wait to see you on Tuesday night.

Playoffs, Scotch Doubles and Pizza!
What an exciting finale for our regular season! First off, congratulations to Sprinkles for winning the third trimester, and to Bowling in the Deep for winning the season-long points race and the wildcard spot. Those two teams will join Lickety Splits and Delivery Boys in next week's playoff event, which will be a three-game competition where the team with the most pins plus handicap for those three games will be crowned the League Champions!
Congratulations also to Elbert Ruff who was the big winner of the Lucky Ball jackpot, after quite a few unsuccessful attempts by a lot of different bowlers! Thanks to everyone for participating last week and throughout the season in our weekly raffles. Taylor Arrington was our final pizza winner for the season with a 176 game (+46 pins).
Bowlers who did not qualify for the playoffs will have the opportunity to participate in a special tournament next week -- our Scotch Doubles Tournament will allow bowlers to pair up as a team and play every alternate shot. The winners will receive special trophies at the end of the season, and we will be serving pizza to everyone who attends. The entry fee will be $10, and we will try to get the games started as soon as possible after the playoff practice time ends.
Finally, we resolved a minor scheduling crisis and we are happy to announce that the End-of-Season Banquet will take place as scheduled at Rain Nightclub (the bar adjacent to the bowling alley), starting at 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 3rd. We are very excited to bring you a few special surprises -- bring a few extra dollars with you for some bingo games that we'll be playing during the ceremonies!

Week 23 and 24 Results, and End-of-Season Schedule
Hi everyone! It's hard to believe that we're in the home stretch for this season -- we have only three weeks left until the last two playoff spots are awarded. And we still have many teams in the hunt for those spots! Sprinkles currently holds down the top spot for this trimester, and three more teams are separated by only four points for the wild card spot -- Split Happens, Bowling in the Deep and Low Hangers. Dan Malone and Keith Bruneau were our two most recent pizza winners, Sean Knight took over third place in the High Scratch Game category last week with a 279 game, and Tim Yaeger is now in second place for High Scratch Series with a 708 series. Our strike jackpot rolled over once again, so we should be well over $400 during this week's drawing!
After the completion of the regular season we will host our Playoff Round -- the top four teams will bowl three games to determine the league championship, and players from all non-qualifying teams will be eligible to compete in the annual Scotch Doubles Tournament. Pizza will be served for everyone during the playoff night, so bring your appetite with you!
The following week will be reserved for our End-of-Season Banquet, which will be held inside the Rain nightclub. Tra and Nancy will once again cater our banquet, and we hope to have a few new surprises in store for the ceremonies this year!

Week 20-22 Results and Mardi Gras Party
We're already almost halfway through the third trimester, which means that we're only a little more than a month away from our playoffs -- and most teams are well within shooting distance of the final two playoff spots. Five teams are within only eight points of the top spot (currently held down by Sprinkles), and two teams are in a dead heat for the wildcard spot. We've had some great bowling in the last several weeks, including an outstanding 278 game by Tim Yaeger (only days after sweeping the singles and all-events titles at the IGBO regional tournament in Connecticut). Brian Cormier, Bobby Nolan and Tim Yaeger have won our pizza awards for the last three weeks, and the strike jackpot has carried over to almost $200.
Next week we will be celebrating the Mardi Gras holiday with a catered pizza event -- we've heard that a few bowlers will be bringing a small side dish or dessert, so if the mood strikes you, feel free to bring a little something to share! We'll be running another colored pin event as well. See you on Tuesday!

Week 19 Results, Playoffs and 25th Anniversary
Congratulations to Delivery Boys who resoundingly claimed the second playoff spot, joining Lickety Splits who won the first spot. Two playoff spots remain -- one for the winner of the last trimester and another for the non-qualified team with the highest number of year-long points.
Tim Murphy claimed the pizza award for the second week in a row, with a great 190 game (+53) in his second game, edging out Cindy Barclay by only one pin. He also helped his team to the (very) early lead in the third trimester standings.
As a final reminder, tomorrow (Sunday) will be our 25th Anniversary Extravaganza at Boston Bowl in Dorchester -- we have some great representation from both leagues and this promises to be a special, exciting event. The bowling will begin at 1:00, but Toby has requested that everyone arrive at least 15 minutes early so that we can get signed in and given a lane. The event will be catered by Trey and Nancy, who many of you will remember from our season-ending banquets in the last two seasons. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Week 15 and 16 Results
Happy New Year to everyone! Congratulations to Sam Bryant and Rick Coco for winning the pizza game award for weeks 15 and 16 respectively, both with some excellent performances! In week 16, Turkey Lurkey took over first place in the High Handicap Team Game standings for the year with an incredible 1044 team score, more than 40 pins more than the previous high score! Sean Knight also set a new mark for the High Scratch Individual Series for the season with a (pre-bowled) 713 series.
With only two weeks left in the second trimester, Delivery Boys are holding down the first place spot by only two points over Sprinkles. A lot of teams still have a mathematical chance of locking down the second playoff spot, though, so stay tuned!
As a side note, Sean and Juan will both be absent again from bowling this week, so please return your completed recap sheets to Jimmy and Taylor on Lane 26. Thanks!

Week 14 Results, and Holiday Schedule
First off, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who made our holiday pot luck such a success last week!
Congratulations to Bobby Nolan for picking up last week's pizza award with a nice 183 game (+35) in the second game last week, and a big shout-out to Rob Silliman who debuted his brand new bowling ball last week and very nearly shot a perfect game with it! He finished with a dazzling 288 game, which was a ridiculous 119 pins over average, and which also allowed him to claim a tie for the top spot in the season-long High Scratch Game category as well as both the Handicap Game and Handicap Series divisions. The lanes have been on fire for the last month -- let's keep it going this week!
As a reminder, we will take the night of December 27th off from bowling, but that will be our only off night during this year's holiday season. As always, pre-bowling is an option for you if you can't make it to bowling during the regular league time for any reason.

Week 13 Results, and Holiday Pot Luck
It was another great week of bowling last week for several people -- it's getting colder outside but the lanes are heating up! Congratulations to Tim Yaeger who claimed the pizza award for the week with an excellent 256 game (+46) in the second game last week. Not to be outdone, Keith Bruneau finished the night with an outstanding 268 game and 660 series, and Andrew Rapp was close behind with a 254 game. Keith is now in second place for the high handicap game and series categories for the season with his performance last week. Just shy of the halfway point for this trimester, Delivery Boys are in the top spot, six points ahead of the next highest team, Sprinkles.
Here's one final reminder that tomorrow night will be our Holiday Pot Luck party -- the cupcakes you see above will be making an appearance, along with whatever surprises you all have in store for tomorrow. We're looking forward to another great event -- see you at the lanes!

Week 11 and 12 Results, Toy Drive and Holiday Pot Luck
Boy, what a week! First off, congratulations to Brian Treanor for winning the Week 11 pizza award with an outstanding 220 game (+58) and Andrew Rapp who is back to his pizza-winning ways with a 225 game (+60) during last week's bowling.
Last week was a week of big scores and impressive results from quite a few bowlers -- Stephen Keokhanthachone started the night with an unbelievable 256 game (+108) and took over first place the High Handicap Game standings for the season -- he also helped his team take over first place in the High Scratch Game and High Handicap Game categories! Juan Ramirez also had an outstanding night, and his 585 series was good enough to take over first place in the High Handicap Series category. And to top it off, Juan also won our Lucky Ball competition and took home more than $300 by knocking down exactly three pins! The Lucky Ball jackpot will be starting over again this week, so let's start building it back up again!
This Tuesday we will be accepting donations for the Toy Drive that was announced a few weeks ago -- we'd love to see a bunch of our league members bringing toys for a worthy cause. (If you choose to bring a toy, please bring it unwrapped.)
The following week (12/13) we will be hosting our annual Holiday Pot Luck event, so start thinking about what you might like to bring (either an appetizer, entree or dessert item). One of the league officers will be stopping by during bowling to talk to each team about the menu for that night. Last year's event was one of the best ever, but let's see if we can outdo ourselves again this year!
